After Furvan brought a parcel with the Nerf guns to the post office this morning, we drove to downtown Sacramento. A sandwich, coffee and donut later we went to the California State Capitol building and park. The park with its memorials and trees is a very interesting and relaxing place, a calm island in the middle of a busy city.
Afterwards we went to the Railroad museum. I discovered a lot of details I missed last year, and got some very interesting additional information from their highly motivated and competent volunteer staff. It is amazing how time flies while I'm there. Old Town Sacramento was less interesting than last year, with all of the interesting souvenir shops replaced by cheap T-shirt sellers.
We're now in Santa Rose in a Best Western motel. They don't have any room with two queen beds left, so they gave us the "suite". Though, this isn't quite a suite: it is a huge three room apartment with three queen beds, a large kitchen, a bath room, a huge TV and a fireplace! Alas, the WLAN is unreliable, thus I have to write this offline again and post later...
