It's Monday, and most museums are closed. With few exceptions, one is the San Diego Air and Space Museum at the Balboa Park.
As the museum was destroyed by a fire in 1978 they don't have many original planes, but a number of replicas that could (and sometimes do) fly. Also, while most other museums emphasize on civil transportation, the San Diego Air and Space museum gives more insight on military use. Not surprising, given the amount of military facilities in San Diego. More interesting than expected, though, we spent a couple of hours there.
We went to Seaport Village next, a shopping area much like San Francisco's Pier 39, but not as crowded at this time of the year. I found another hat there, hooray! And we finally gave in and tried Ben and Jerry's ice cream. The ice cream is excellent (though expensive), but the cones are too sweet. I'll take a cup instead next time.
Finally, we drove to a beach to see an awesome sunset. What a great day!
