Saturday brought the fursuit parade, with a new record number of costumes, I heard. Granted, every year has a new record, as fast as the costuming gets more popular... This time the parade was lead by Chinese dragon dancers, which was a great idea. Later, guest of honor David Barclay presented the Outabody system, a motion tracking system for puppeteers. Very interesting technology, David is also a very nice guy to talk to.
The masquerade was a bit disappointing at first, but got much better to the end. I always wonder why costumes that clearly show a lack of skill of the maker get to the "professional" category. However, the show was quite entertaining and didn't have too much dead air. While I do not agree on all jury decisions, I fully agree that Smash's suit deserves the price. Very cute, very well built and excellently performed.
Finally I went to the dance when BBF was spinning and had an excellent time on the dance floor.
