One of the street guides for next year's vacation arrived today. Of course it is the old edition. I cannot blame the book store, because they had to order it from the distributor themselves. Luckily, US maps don't change that much compared to German maps. And strictly speaking it is valid until end of the year. However, a newer edition exists and I hate to use old maps. Yet, the distributor apparently thinks that it is okay to sell old maps. There is no way to get the current (last year's!) edition in Germany. I could mail order the current edition from the publisher, however handling and shipping is almost as expensive as the map itself.
I've booked my winter vacation! Four weeks of San Francisco, Further Confusion and RV trip with my parents next January / February.
I wonder whether a sleeping bag named Aspen is going to keep me warm, as there is a German idiom "zittern wie Espenlaub" ("shaking like a leaf".)
Lee Hazlewood dies, aged 78. May he always have enough summer wine, his silver spurs and a dollar and a dime wherever he is now. And only velvet mornings.
And the bands of the last day:
Today's bands:
I met Angus, doco, Lupo, SibSerag and thecrow_ at the Hauptmark tonight and we started by listening to the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. Klezmer-Gabber?! WTF?! Okay, not only that, but also classic Klezmer and Klezmer combined with Hiphop, House and Raggae elements. Basically, a Klezmer band plus the two DJs Cmon & Kypski. Weird but very good mix.
On the weekend, we had the second pawpet rehearsal. It was quite productive. With most of the important props and sound effects being ready we were able to fine-tune the timing and all the gags should work as intended. I'm already looking forward to the premiere, but we'll have another rehearsal weekend before that, and the dress rehearsal on Eurofurence of course.
