Brainshare, Day 1

My first tutorial didn't go too bad, but it wasn't a roaring success, either. Not even half of the people who registered were showing up, some folks left during the presentation (which is quite normal, though.) I've never had such a silent audience, there was no reaction on the few jokes. Not even bad reaction. But I had a couple of listeners coming up to the table afterwards, asking some questions. The second session of this talk will be tomorrow at 8:30, and I'll have another tutorial on IPv6 tomorrow and on Thursday.

I've attended the keynote this year. They showed some cool TV-show and advertising spoofs, our CEO presented what he had shown us two weeks ago at an all-hands meeting before, and there were some short technical demonstrations. The stage was huge, the lighting could have been done with less spots as well, the audio was good. Like that brat in Cats Don't Dance says: make it big! They sure did.

The rest of the day I helped at the tech lab counter for SLES 10 SP1 and had some nice chats with customers and colleagues.
