ISDN / VoIP solution?

After reading that AVM is dropping their Linux support for passive ISDN cards I was looking for a long-term replacement of my current fax and voice mail solution.

Sunday car trip

I went on a day trip yesterday to test my new car navigation system in a non-familiar region. Even though I had been researching possible destinations for a couple of days, I decided rather spontaniously to drive to the wild animal park Bad Mergentheim. I have to appologise to lynard_ for not asking to join me, but I was afraid to call him up at 6 on a Sunday morning... :-)

Disgusting.

I have to admit I hate car parades enough already, but what really pisses me off is that it isn't about football, nor about partying. Granted, football is the founding myth of the Federal Republic of Germany, as much as the Boston Tea Party for the USA or the revoltion for the French.

Bathroom Renovation...

After living in this flat for more than five years I finally managed to renovate the bathroom. Sounds easy? Well, I removed the wallpaper from the bath tub area, removed the mould (yeah, great idea to just stick some wallpaper over it, dear Ms. Previous Tenant), planed the walls, applied some primer and painted it with latex paint. I kept the wallpaper on the ceiling and the other walls and just painted it over. Unfortunately, the paint needs quite some time to dry, so I had to endure three days without a shower. Cleaning the room and moving the power outlet from behind the door (who's bright idea was that, anyway?) to somwhere next to the basin took another complete day. And now I have a neat and tidy bathroom.

Even More Google Earth Fun...

YAY! At last!

More Google Earth Fun

After fighting my way through various undocumented features and weird bugs of Google Earth, I've managed to generate a .kml file which connects my vacation photos with the location logged by the GPS receiver at the time. Which is quite cool, as I tend to forget where exactly I took a photo...
