The spokesperson for domestical security of the German social-democrat party, Dieter Wiefelspütz, proposed that the planned anti-terror files (which are very likely unconstitutional to begin with) should also contain data such as religious denomination or "sexual deviance", whatever that means. He also rejects public criticism of his proposals by saying that it is only the parliament's decision and nobody else's.
but the title "best concert of the year" now belongs to Heather Alexander. Wow, that woman rocks the castle! Literally.
My parents are here for the weekend, and after we went to the zoo of Nürnberg yesterday, we drove to Hohenstein-Ernstthal, the place where my great-grandfather was born. Admittedly, the town is better known for being the birth place of someone a bit more famous: German writer Karl May. Hohenstein is a nicely restored little town with some old buildings. It definately deserves a lot more recognition by tourists.
This year's Bardentreffen here in Nürnberg was great again. We (Angus, Dal'Noc, Eisfuchs, lynard_, Reesa, sibserag, thecrow_ and I) listened to many excellent bands and had lots of fun. On Saturday night I cooked the traditional Reitersuppe. Well, the tradition is that I cook that soup on Saturday night of the Bardentreffen for my guests. :-)
The location: a campground in Autenhausen near Coburg. My rig: a tent, a crate of beer, a crate of lemonade, a crate of water, sunscreen, "Off! Deep Woods" repellent (the stuff actually works in Germany, at least it keeps off horseflies.) The guests: about 30 furries from all over Germany. The hosts: eosfoxx and madCat. The mood: perfect. The pool: excellent. The landlord: Siggi. The weather: too hot, one thunderstorm. The sunburn: itching. The BBQ: great. The pizza service: poor. The weekend: perfect.
