First Pawpet Rehearsal

Last weekend we went to our first rehearsal of this year's pawpet show. It's always amazing how many people and pieces of luggage can fit into my VW Golf. My travel companians were Reesa, Eisfuchs, FinFarenath and lynard_), plus a large amount of Folkmanis puppets and Eisfuchs' keyboard. The rehearsal went surprisingly well, cheetah_spotty and Eisfuchs have outdone themselves again with the story. This year's show will rely more on storytelling and less on effects — don't worry, there will still be plenty of those as well, of course. And lots of comedy. I'm afraid I cannot tell more about it for now. All I can say is: come to Eurofurence 13 and watch the show!

Sigh. If tolerating EF13 is the price of seeing the show, then, well... if we must. :)

For me the Pawpet show was one of the highlights of EF12, so needless to say I'm looking forward to seeing this year's show. :) Traditionally in showbiz the term used is "break a leg" since it's considered bad luck to wish someone good luck, so you wish them bad luck instead. O_o Perhaps in the case of the Pawpet show then, I should wish you to "break a finger"? :D

There was a fully animatronic puppet looking down at the audience last year, so don't expect us to be stopped by a broken finger. Beside, with some of the scenes there is a high chance we might stumble and everyone falls over each other - namely the 'wine cellar' scene at EFX was famous for crushed bodies during the rehearsals (where the (back)stage was not 'open' to the side but ended with a wall)

Even the lumbago of a certain stage hand cannot stop the show. :-P

*erf* yes....

(I tried to repress that memory. The minutes before the show started I felt like a zombie, sitting there next to all of you, beside the stage, but not spoken to, kinda ignored, like already dead. Awful feeling)
