Florida Trip, day 1 & 2: Megaplex

I'm having a blast. From what I had about Megaplex beforehand, I was expecting some kind of American MMC. And indeed, it is a relax-a-con deluxe. Even though there is not overly much programming, the panels and events are excellent. The Megaplex staff is running the convention very smoothly, everyone is having a great time and its fun to hang out with all the folks here.

It's hard to name the highlights so far. The fursuit games were funny as hell, Uncle Kage's Story Hour very entertaining, a mysterious DJ Santa Claws coming in on a motorbike afterwards, a surprisingly large fursuit parade. The fursuits are exceptionally good, too.

The charity goes to the The C.A.R.E. Foundation, who run a sanctuary for non-releasable wild animals or abandoned exotic pets. They brought some really interesting animals, like a curious possum, a hyper-active cockatoo, an annoyed Burmese python, a bored alligator snapping turtle and a friendly Florida panther (born in captivity and hand-raised, of course.)

Later tonight there will be Matthew Ebel and JR on stage, after that BBF will be spinning (the vinyl, of course.)
