Dear DERTOUR

Congratulations! Contrary to FTI last year, you managed to actually send me a KOA Value Kard. You did only marginally better than your competitor, though. The card reads "valid until 12/2007."

Back from Paris

Very nice about last weekend: everything! The food! OMG, the food! It was so fantastic! Paris: great atmosphere, a very unique place. The festival: excellent! We had a lot of fun, and so had all the other exhibitors. Met quite some cool people there. And everything was perfectly organized. Also very nice: the large mall near Euro Disney. It puts any American (let alone German) mall to shame. The comic book store was extremely nice, though I didn't buy anything: I would not have been able to stop spending money once I started. And I don't have space for figurines anyway. Oh, and did I mention the food?

California Dreaming...

I've booked my winter vacation! Four weeks of San Francisco, Further Confusion and RV trip with my parents next January / February.

It is time...

...to update the map:

I'm back home...

...but my luggage isn't, of course. Despite this, the rest of the trip was quite uneventful. I arrived shortly after 9 PM at my home, got a shower, made some tea and a deep-frozen pizza. And regarding Air France: as much as I loathe their ground personnel, I cannot stress enough that I really love the friendliness and competence of their flight crews. That, and their food of course.

Rolling home

Flight AF 9495 was late by three hours, so I missed my connection in Newark. No problem, just ask Air France customer service. Um, nice joke.

Got my luggage.

Well, I got my luggage tonight. But only after getting quite insistent on the lost baggage hotline of Air France, who at first tried to get rid off me by claiming that they couldn't do anything but filing a "courtesy request" as I haven't requested a tracking number in Washington. Yes, very funny, if I had done it I would have missed my connection to Pittsburgh and would have been stranded in Washington in the middle of the night. Processing time for the request would have been 48 hours. Courtesy?! It was their fucking fault that my luggage didn't arrive here. And they seriously wanted to leave me without my luggage for the whole trip? Only after I started to yell at the lady she researched what had happened to my stuff. But still plainly refused to deliver it the hotel. We had to drive to the airport and pick it up ourselves.
