I have to admit I hate car parades enough already, but what really pisses me off is that it isn't about football, nor about partying. Granted, football is the founding myth of the Federal Republic of Germany, as much as the Boston Tea Party for the USA or the revoltion for the French.
After living in this flat for more than five years I finally managed to renovate the bathroom. Sounds easy? Well, I removed the wallpaper from the bath tub area, removed the mould (yeah, great idea to just stick some wallpaper over it, dear Ms. Previous Tenant), planed the walls, applied some primer and painted it with latex paint. I kept the wallpaper on the ceiling and the other walls and just painted it over. Unfortunately, the paint needs quite some time to dry, so I had to endure three days without a shower. Cleaning the room and moving the power outlet from behind the door (who's bright idea was that, anyway?) to somwhere next to the basin took another complete day. And now I have a neat and tidy bathroom.

After fighting my way through various undocumented features and weird bugs of Google Earth, I've managed to generate a .kml file which connects my vacation photos with the location logged by the GPS receiver at the time. Which is quite cool, as I tend to forget where exactly I took a photo...
Via lynard_: How to make a kylflow
While bigbluefox, cheetah_spotty, fuchsi, Jaryic, nachtfuchs and tanidareal are on their eastcoast roadtrip (have a lot of fun, folks!), I remembered that I logged the GPS data of the trip of Kayjay, lynard_ and me through some Western US states in January and that I hadn't managed to convert the data before to something Google Earth would understand. So I wrote some filter and conversion scripts this weekend (turned out that GE didn't like some bogus data logged. Not gpsdrive's fault, it just dumps everything from the GPS receiver to a file...)
